![]() ![]() ( see red arrows) The clear part of the tube was only 1/32nd inch larger than the orange end cap, but just enough to stop the mag dead in its tracks when inserting. It was bumping against a bulkhead at the bottom of the magwell. There was a ridge where the clear part of the tube met the orange cap on the end of the mag. So again, anybody else got a Helios and an opinion ? We will not rest until Nerf justice is served.īut seriously, don't take me seriously. Which of course will result in a full disassembly and a federal probe into why the 12 round mag is being discriminated against. ( Admins, I would like a triple word score for "interchangeability", plus a double letter score on the G, thank you)īut seriously, I am disappointed that the Helios is limited to 7 rounds. WTF ?!?! I thought the whole business with RIVAL was compatibility and interchangeability. Most depressingly, it's not compatible with 12 round RIVAL mags. Plus the balance and the priming is all wrong for a pistol. It's too short for me to shoulder fire, and akwardly long to be fired like a pistol. Its 7 round mag is preferable to the 5 round Kronos, but pales in comparison to the rest of the RIVAL line.Īnd that's where the love ends. Like most of my other RIVAL blasters, it performs great ! It's a little better than my Kronos, just a smidge, but not as good as my Nemesis. I have no idea whether the Helios is any good or not, but for the price of a #5 meal at McDonalds, I'm willing to give it a go.Įdit: I unboxed the Helios and played with tested it in the shop last night. So I left it there for some lucky Nerfer and shopped for a coat and some new socks.Īre you kidding !?!? I sprinted to the self check-out as fast as I could and snagged that baby for myself. ![]() The full image gallery for Helios XVIII-700 may be viewed at Helios XVIII-700/Gallery.HeliosI was wandering through Walmart this evening and stumbled across a Phantom Corps Helios on the clearance shelf for $9 buck. Using the unjamming feature inadvertently allows the Helios to be loaded and primed twice, allowing the blaster to fire two rounds at once.Because of this, the Helios is considered a direct successor to the Apollo. The bolt-action nature of the Helios seems to be an upgrade to the small slide-action handle on the top of the Apollo. Possibly in reference to this, the Helios and the Apollo XV-700 are rather similar, with it having likely been created as an answer to complaints about the Apollo - the end of the blaster not being comfortable, lacking a sling mount, and being hard to prime. Helios is closely associated with Apollo, both being deities associated with the sun.The Helios XVIII-700 was named after Helios from Greek mythology, who was the personification of the sun. ![]() Phantom Corps ( white, black, and orange).Team Red (red, black, white, and orange).Team Blue (blue, black, white, and orange). The Helios has been released with the following color schemes: The Helios was planned to have an Edge Series re-release, alongside a thirty round drum, but was ultimately cancelled. The standard RIVAL Helios is a re-release of the Phantom Corps variant that was released earlier in the same year. Experience the intensity of Nerf Rival battles with the Helios XVIII-700 blaster! The bolt is removable so battlers can place it on either side of the blaster to customize for right-handed or left-handed battlers. This Nerf Rival blaster also has a trigger lock to prevent the blaster from being fired accidentally, a ready indicator to show when the blaster is primed, and a tactical rail to customize with Nerf Rival gear and accessories (each sold separately). The blaster has a spring-action mechanism and includes an easy-loading, 7-round magazine and 7 high-impact rounds. Go into battle as Team Blue with the bolt-action Nerf Rival Helios XVIII-700 blaster! Pull back the bolt to prime the Helios XVIII-700 blaster and unleash rounds at a velocity of 100 feet per second (30 meters per second). ![]()
